AICO Founding Principal Rudan Ye was Invited to Attend 2023 RIBA China Landmarks 100-Urban Complex

As a noteworthy component of the 16th World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Singapore, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) arranged a comprehensive forum on the subject of “Sustainable Urban Future” at the Marina Bay Sands from 30th November to 1st December. This event also served as the venue for the 2023 RIBA China Landmarks 100-Urban Complex. The principal objective of this event is to undertake a comprehensive review of the exceptional advancements in urban development in China and to engage in a rigorous examination of the distinctive design characteristics of the Chinese contemporary urban commercial complex. Mr. Rudan Ye, the founding principal of AICO, participated in the event as both a forum host and an award recipient.

 

Mr. Rudan Ye acted as moderator for the discussion on the spatial characteristics of urban vitality in Chinese urban landmarks. Furthermore, he engaged in discourse with guests from a range of backgrounds on a number of topics, including the impact of city landmarks on urban vitality, the ways in which city landmarks can shape urban culture, and design strategies for showcasing vitality and culture.

 

The RAIL IN project in Shenzhen Bay, designed by AICO, has been shortlisted in the “2023 RIBA China Landmark 100 — Urban Commercial Complex Category” list and aims to create a vibrant lifestyle hub for the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters. The AICO team has proposed the a super transit-oriented development (TOD) with the integration of three metro line routes and a bus terminal. The project comprises of a mixed program, including public transit, commerce, office, hotel, residential, and culture. It becomes a new lifestyle center of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
